Have you ever thought about the first historical record of death to animals and the why of it? Nearest I can find, the blood spilled to provide clothing for naked Adam and Eve, was the earliest account. If you read the third chapter in Genesis, you see real quick that we descended from a pretty independent and manipulative woman. Not only that, it kind of appears as if her man didn’t have much of a backbone, but, in all seriousness, animals died because of their sin.
Adam called her Eve, because she was the mother of all living and I occasionally wonder about the effect her choices had on all of us. For myself, it isn’t a surprise to me, that hunting is in my DNA.
First, let me share this;
Most of you who follow along with my social media, also know me on a personal level.
I hope you know me first as a Believer. I hope you know by my life that I believe in Godly womanhood, marriage and homemaking. You might know I believe in raising our own food, hunting and fishing for food and cooking good, nutrient dense meals. You might know I believe in utilizing our gifts and talents as women to bless others, our families first. I also believe that when we as women, just like men, get out of God’s design for us, we wreck havoc in our own lives, our homes, and consequently, society.
God gave us souls. As my husband says, “We are souls with bodies.” There are souls with men’s bodies and souls with women’s bodies. They are not one or the other better or less than, God then gave us different roles with those souls.
When we deny those roles we are denying God and a bit farther along in the book we know as God’s Word, we read in Romans 1 what that can manifest as, it ain’t a pretty picture.
You know I’ve refrained from sharing much on controversial subjects, mostly because I want to be an encourager, to inspire and to be a light for Him, but also because there’s enough drama on this platform what with politics and the so called p.a.n.d.e.m.i.c . Today I want to encourage other Christians to be confident in our opportunity to live lives that promote God as our Savior and Godly lives and homes as our ultimate goal, because first, He is worthy, and second, the picture of ungodliness, is, well, ugly.
So here’s my burden;
Yesterday a bill was introduced in the Colorado Legislature that will, if passed, prohibit the hunting/taking of bobcat, mountain lions and Canadian Lynx.
Because of my love for hunting, and because of our livelihood, I was at first curious about it and why it was introduced. When I read the bill over, I noticed that it had two senators and two representatives who sponsored it. Curious, I looked them up and here’s what I found;
They are all four women.
Their political stance is Democrat (not a deal breaker per say)
A common thread is gun control and environmental issues (I’m for keeping guns out of criminals hands -you might call that gun control- and keeping plastic water bottles out of our fishing streams, etc., - an environmental issue)
However, there were a few words that stood out on one or more of their profiles; atheist, lesbian, pro-choice, etc.. This is denying God, plain and simple.
This is not a hate-anti-phobic post. This is; “let’s look at what’s behind a motive and call it for what it is” kind of post; women who have turned against what is natural.
I am a Christian woman, that doesn’t make me a different kind of Christian, that makes me a different kind of woman. Let’s build homes based on God’s plan, not sabotage our opportunity and privilege to live as He designed, the consequences are far reaching and devastating, just ask Eve.
Love and hugs,
